This Balmacaan coat has a basic silhouette. It has been updated to be worn with a relaxed, robe-like feel. It is unlined and tailored in a single piece, with a turned-back seam also tapped into the body, so it feels as if you are wearing a single piece of fabric. The blend of silk and linen has very good moisture absorption and desorption properties. It matches the humid Japanese climate and can be worn comfortably in all three seasons except midwinter.

This twill fabric is woven in Yonezawa City, Yamagata Prefecture, Japan's northernmost textile production center, and is a cross weave of silk and linen. The warp is made of thick count "silk spun yarn" and the weft is made of yarn dyed linen, woven in 3/1 twill. The reverse side has the smooth feel and moderate firmness of linen.
