HEMP KNIT | OVERSIZED CARDIGAN
This cardigan features a thicker-than-usual placket and an oversized silhouette, and is made of 10-gauge fabric with a firm, comfortable feel. The ribbed hem is not too tight and can be worn like outerwear. It is very cool despite its fleshiness, and can be worn comfortably until the rainy season or before midsummer.
This knit material is made from hemp (a plant in the family Asiaticaceae), which has been familiar to the Japanese since ancient times in Shinto rituals and the like. Hemp has a special hollow structure that makes it more moisture absorbent, quick-drying, and breathable than linen. By knitting it tightly at the limit, it has a unique firmness and smooth dry touch that is not found in ordinary knit fabrics. It is also called the ultimate sustainable plant, as it is fertilizer-free, pesticide-free, and CO2-reducing.
