WOOL WASHI TROPICAL

WOOL WASHI TROPICAL

This material is slowly woven in Hashima City from SURPER'160 wool on the warp and Mino Washi yarns on the weft.

It is an ATON original material characterized by the soft wool texture and the wrinkled look that does not appear in other materials, which combines not only the firmness characteristic of Japanese paper but also the lightness from the efficacy and the comfort in all seasons (it breathes).

What is Mino Washi?
It has been handed down for more than 1,300 years in the Mino region along the clear Nagara River, and is a traditional Japanese paper of such high quality that it is even used in documents preserved in the Shosoin.
Its main raw material is Manila hemp, one of Japan's representative fibers, which is softer than ordinary Japanese paper and has excellent moisture absorption, moisture retention, deodorizing and antibacterial properties, and light weight.
