KYOTO TSURIZOME COTTON

KYOTO TSURIZOME COTTON

Kyoto Hanging Dyeing" is a dyeing method used at a dyeing factory with a history of more than 200 years, which has been engaged in dyeing Imperial household goods as a dyer in Nishijin, Kyoto for generations.

The fabric is then rolled into a cylindrical shape (whirlpool) and slowly dyed while being soaked in a bathtub, up and down, so that the fabrics do not rub against each other.

This dyeing process causes the material to stretch, which gives the fabric its "bend" when made into a finished product.
This is ATON's original dyeing technique.
